Albert Waltzing

Albert H. Waltzing, age 73, a resident of Osakis died Friday, February 21, 2014 at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis with Fr. David Petron officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Jan Temple and cantor, Keri Mohror. Burial will take place at St. Alexis Cemetery in West Union.

Visitation will take place from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis with the 7 p.m. Prayer service followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Albert Henry Waltzing was born October 21, 1940, to Peter and Clara (Kiffmeyer) Waltzing in Luxemburg, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Wendaline Catholic Church in Luxemburg. He attended public school through the eighth grade in Kimball. Following his education, he worked at Gannon Elevator and later for Knaus Meat Market in Kimball for many years. He was united in marriage to Diane Mary Messer June 6, 1966. Following their marriage they lived in Kimball. In 1973, they moved to Osakis where he farmed and milked cows. Following the sale of his milking operation, he continued operating his hobby farm where he raised steers, livestock and helping his neighbors. Albert served in the National Guard, was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed working and spending time with his kids and grandchildren.

Albert is survived by his wife of 47 years, Diane; three sons, Jeff (Kathy) Waltzing of Crystal, Kurt (Diana) Waltzing and Randy (Katie Mueller) Waltzing both of Osakis; four daughters, Lori (Mike) Mielitz of Osakis, Shari (Scott) Chouanard of St. Michael, Kristi (Greg) Evers of Sartell and Tammy (Tyler) Olson of St. Michael; two brothers, Lawrence (Helen) Waltzing and Victor Waltzing both of Kimball; sister, Marie (Virgil) Koenig of St. Augusta; sister-in-law, Delphine Waltzing of Clearwater; 16 grandchildren; great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Coni; infant son, Robert; and two brothers, Jerry and Denis Waltzing.

Pallbearers are Tom Miller, Greg Marthaler, Eric Marthaler, Kenny Frie, Irvin Frie and Arnie Schlosser. Honorary pallbearers are the Knights of Columbus.
