Life History for Alyce Hagen
Alyce Hagen went to meet her Lord on December 11, 2009 at the age of 89 years. She was a resident of the Community Memorial Home in Osakis, MN.
Alyce Luella Hanson was born in Gordon Township, Todd County on February 15, 2009 to Haakon and Pauline (Anderson) Hanson. She was baptized and confirmed at Sauk Valley Lutheran Church in rural Osakis, MN. Alyce graduated with the Class of 1936 from Osakis High School. She was married at the Sauk Valley Lutheran Church to LeRoy Hagen on June 21, 1941, which was also LeRoy's 23rd birthday. The Hagen's farmed for many years in Gordon Township, Todd County, where Alyce was a hardworking farm wife who helped on the farm and raised their three children. She was also very active at her church. Alyce served not only as a member of the church Ladies Aide, the Sauk Valley Quilters quilting group (which supplied dozens of quilts for the missions) and in the church choir, but she also volunteered as a Sunday School teacher. Her faith and her family were of utmost importance in her life.
Some of Alyce's hobbies included sewing and quilting, traveling and reading. She was a loving mother and grandma, who will be dearly missed by her family, grand-
children, relatives and friends.
She is survived by her three children, Dale & Carol Hagen of Osakis, Carol Alcober of N. Fort Myers, FL and Daniel & Dorte Hagen of Osakis; 7 grandchildren, April (Luke) McCracken, Mattie & Gregory Alcober, David, Nikolaj, Peter and Nils Hagen; 2 great grandchildren, Meagen & Treva McCrakcken. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, LeRoy in 2003, a granddaughter, Genevieve Alcober; 3 brothers, Alfred, Kermit and Harold Hanson and a sister, Hulda E. Skreen.
