LIFE HISTORY FOR REBECCA 'BECKY' JOAN LETCHER
Becky Letcher, age 65, formerly of the Osakis area passed into her new life on May 25, 2018 in Mobile Alabama after a courageous battle with cancer.
Rebecca Joan Timm was born on November 17, 1952 to Walter and Ella Timm of Wood Lake, MN. Becky grew up on a farm just outside of town and was the only girl in the family, so needless to say was a little special. She had a small pony named 'Buttons.' She attended school at St. Johns parochial school through the eigth grade and then went to Wood Lake Public School until she graduated in 1970. After graduation, she worked at the Wood Lake state Bank. She went on to work in other banks such as Bremer in Marshall and also the branch in Alexandria, MN. She worked for a time at the Todd County Planning and Zoning office and at the Osakis Creamery. On September 29, 1978 Becky married Richard 'Dick' Letcher. She had two sons, Brian Milbradt of Euless, TX and Dennis Milbradt of Grants Pass, OR from a previous marriage and Dick also had two sons, Mike Letcher of Windom, MN and Jamie Letcher of Lakeville, MN. On July 17, 1981 they were blessed again with the birth of their daughter, Laurie Melissa, who married Todd Morgan. Becky and Dick enjoyed their life together for many years and loved to go camping, fishing and hiking. She especially loved birds and flowers and had many beautiful flower gardens. She was always so joyful and happy. She had a smile a mile wide and loved helping people. Becky was such a loving mother and grandmother. The grandkids were her life and she leaves fourteen of them. She loved them equally and totally. Becky and Dick made a decision to move to Alabama and be closer to the youngest grandchildren and their daughter. They bought a home in Foley and had finally moved south when Becky was diagnosed with cancer. She fought hard and made sure to attend ball games, dance practices and recitals even though it had become a real struggle for her. Becky loved to remodel and redecorate the various homes they lived in. She clung tightly to her faith to the very end. She knew where she was going when she left this earth. She was an example to everyone of what Christianity is and should be.
Becky is survived by her husband, Dick Letcher; her sons, Brian and Dennis Milbradt and daughter, Laurie Morgan; stepsons, Mike and Jamie Letcher; 14 grandchildren; 5 siblings, Jerome (Darlene) Timm, Walter (Lois) Timm, Jr., Charles (Marla) Timm, Kenneth (Tami) Timm and John (Judy) Timm; many nieces and nephews.
Rebecca has requested that in lieu of any flowers or monetary gifts, please make a donation in her name to any reputable pro-life charity or organization.
Memorial services for Becky will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Elim Lutheran Church in Osakis with Rev. Lindell Quam officiating. Interment is in the church cemetery and a luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall.
