LIFE HISTORY for BRENDA COLLINS
Brenda Collins just celebrated her 60th birthday last Friday, and now will celebrate Jesus’s birthday with Him in heaven. She passed into her new life unexpectedly on Monday, Dec. 8, 2020 at the Alomere Health in Alexandria, MN.
Duane and Marlys (Sorenson) Freier welcomed a baby girl into their lives on December 4, 1960 in Alexandria, MN. They named her Brenda Lynn and she was one of four daughters born to this union. Brenda graduated from the Mandan High School in Mandan with the Class of 1979. Later that August Brenda married her soulmate, Dennis Collins on August 18, 1979 at the First Lutheran Church in Alexandria, MN. They made their home in Osakis and had three children of their own, Joy, Sara and John. Besides raising her family, Brenda worked at various jobs in the Osakis area. Over the years she was employed by the Community Memorial Home, Osakis Locker, Food N Fuel, Lind-Rite and finally at Alex Industries. Brenda was happiest when she was able to be home spending time with her family and playing with her grandkids. She loved to bake and filled the house with all kinds of goodies at Christmas time. She raised a garden each season and then filled her pantry with canned fruits and vegetables. Brenda was always working on a craft or handiwork project, whether sewing, knitting or crocheting, someone was soon to benefit from her talents. She loved her family fiercely and would do anything she could for them. Her goodness and kindnesses will be the memories that they keep in their hearts.
Brenda is survived by her faithful husband of 41 years, Dennis Collins of Osakis; her children, Joy (Ryan) Larson of Osakis, Sara Blaeser of Henning and John Collins of Alexandria; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; her mother, Marlys Freier of Phoenix, AZ; a sister, Jan Freier, also of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death is her father, Duane and two sisters, Debbie Boyer and Barbara Jean Freier.
The family will hold private services, but has invited the public to a visitation time on Sunday evening, Dec. 13, 2020 from 4 – 6 pm at the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis, MN.
Condolences and memories may also be left on her Tribute page at www.royhetland.com.
