Dellis Marvin Byland, a devoted family man; father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather and friend to many passed away on February 19, 2024, at the age of 91. Born in Osakis, MN on August 13, 1932, Dellis lived a life filled with love, laughter, and hard work.

Throughout his life, Dellis found joy in the simple pleasures of nature. He loved being on or by the lake, often spent his days fishing and was well known as 'Crappie King'. Dellis also enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting in the great outdoors, and tending to his impressive flower garden that only last year boasted an array of 92 colorful flowerpots.

In April 1954, Dellis married his beloved wife, Arlene Jensen, in South Dakota. Together, they raised a beautiful family of four children: Jackie, Doug Pam and Wanda. Sadly, after 56 years of marriage, Dellis lost his cherished wife, Arlene, after a long illness in March 2010.

Dellis honorably served in the United States Army as a boxer during the Korean War before pursuing a career as a chef at the American Legion in Grafton, North Dakota. Later, he transitioned to a machinist position at Twin City Rivet in Brooklyn Park, where he worked until his retirement at Lake Darling in 1995.

Dellis is survived by his daughters; Jackie (Bill) Ulwelling, Pam (Hoyt) Hansen, and Wanda (Mike Kauppi) Snow, grandchildren Al (Gabriella) Ulwelling, Jenny (Mike) Tell, Missy (Tom) Marks, Katrina (Dave Santa) Snow, Steven Snow and Jordan Snow, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Dellis leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and unconditional love for his family.

A private funeral ceremony will be held followed by interment at West Evergreen Cemetery.

You are invited to join Dellis' family for a celebration of his life at Fired Up Bar & Grill, 530 CR-22 NW, Alexandria, MN 56308 on March 23, 2024 at 2:00 pm.

Dellis Marvin Byland will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones. May he rest in peace.
