Delores Trisko

October 20, 1923 — December 21, 2016

Delores Trisko, age 93 of Osakis, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at her home in Osakis, MN.

Born on October 20, 1923 to Richard and Lydia (Hackbarth) Braeger in Brooten, MN. Delores Rachel was one of eight children and while still a young girl, she moved with her family to the Osakis area and later graduated from Osakis High School. Following high school she was employed as a waitress at the famous Palmer House Cafe on Main Street in Sauk Centre and met the love of her life, Albert "Red" Trisko. They were married on April 10, 1944. The newly married couple shared all the joys and challenges of farm life, partners in the best sense of the word. Together they raised a family and filled their days with the love and hard work of farming. It was not unusual to see Delores tending to chores, on the tractor, and even picking rock in the spring. When the work was done Delores and Red would take drives in the country and a weekend night would often find them together on the dance floor. In 1972, the Trisko's moved off the farm and into a home in Osakis, where Delores was able to remain until her death. Like the farm, it was a home filled with many happy memories and the center of family life. Even as the children grew up and moved away, Delores remained it's heart and soul.

Delores loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She served the residents of the Osakis Community Memorial Nursing Home by giving them the gift of clean and tidy laundry for over twenty years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Osakis and was blessed by the visitors who brought her the weekly bulletins and especially the Eucharist. She loved country music and enjoyed traveling to Branson, going to shows, and the music of her family. She loved to play cards, but also liked Scrabble and crossword puzzles to keep her mind sharp. Delores was a huge sports fan, faithfully cheering on all the Minnesota teams, particularly the Twins. She was always ready with a smile and an encouraging word and remains dearly loved by her family and friends. She will be terribly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Delores is survived by her children, Dick (Diane) Trisko of Rochester, Jan (Richard) Roberts of Osakis, Tom (Brenda) Trisko of Brandon and Jane(John) Chagnon of St. Paul; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Delores was the last surviving member of her family. Preceding her in death is her husband, Red, who died in 1985; her parents, Richard and Lydia; and siblings Russell Braeger, LaVonne Braeger, Homer Braeger, Richard "Bud" Braeger, Edna Scheffer, Luverne Trisko, Wesley Braeger and Kenneth Braeger. While the family shares the loss of these days they are also at peace in the knowledge of their happy reunion in the unbroken circle of God's love.
