Dwight "Dub" George

Dwight William George, age 61 of Sauk Centre, died Monday September 8, 2008 while doing what he loved, running his 5K each morning.

Dwight was born in Long Prairie on July 16th, 1947 to Robert and Inez (Thornquist) George. He married Marie Botz on January 13th, 1968. They resided in the Sauk Centre area for the last 28 years. Dwight worked as an IBEW Journeyman Electrician for over 40 years.

Dub, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, is loved by his family and will be greatly missed. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, who cherished and deeply loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Marie George of Sauk Centre; children, Michelle (Kelly) Diedrich of Belgrade, Jason (Marisa) George of Sauk Centre, Jackie (Tom) Polipnick of St. Cloud, and Angie George of Arcata, CA; grandchildren, Amanda, Lance, CJ, Teagan, Avery, and Finley; two brothers and one sister, Robert (Mary) George, Jr. of Osakis, Nathan George of Osakis, and Loxy (Pat) Nelson of Blaine; several nieces and nephews.

Dwight was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Inez; brother, Roger and niece, Billie-Jo George.

Private services were held.
