On April 3, 1919 a baby girl was born to John and Anna (Carlson) Langlie in Napolean, (Logan County) North Dakota. After her schooling, Evelyn went to work as a housekeeper. On April 10, 1946 Evelyn married Sam Rasmusen at the Long Bridge Lutheran Church in Little Sauk, MN. They farmed for a time near Bertha, MN and then moved to a farm in rural Osakis. Evelyn was an excellent cook, often baking five loaves of bread twice a week for her family to enjoy. She was also known for her homemade donuts. Evelyn had a green thumb and she gardened all the years on the farm. Each season the Rasmusens raised a huge field of sweet corn to share with neighbors, family and friends. They also raised cucumbers for a pickle company for many years. In addition to gardening and canning, Evelyn enjoyed traveling, crocheting, reading and taking Sunday drives around the countryside or going to area threshing bees and corn fests. She also liked music (especially polka tunes) and enjoyed visiting with neighbors and friends over a cup of coffee and some homemade cookies. She was a loving mother and grandma who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
