Florence D. Grewe

Florence D. Grewe, 80, was born on December 4, 1945, in Montevideo, MN, to Harry and Vi Lietz. She died on February 2, 2026, at the St Cloud Hospital surrounded by family. Florence grew up in Deer Creek, Minnesota, where she graduated high school in 1963. She embarked on a lifelong journey of love and family when she married Jerome Grewe on May 23, 1964, in Deer Creek. Together, they welcomed three children into their lives: Connie, Sheri, and Troy.

Florence and Jerome spent their early years in the Twin Cities until 1977 when they purchased a farm near Eagle Bend. Their journey continued in 1979 as they moved to a hobby farm near Long Prairie, where they cultivated cherished memories over the next 35 years before building their retirement home in Sauk Centre in 2014. Additionally, they enjoyed many winters in Gilbert, Arizona, where they could embrace the warmth and sunshine.

Florence was renowned for her kind and patient nature, always embodying understanding and care in her relationships with family and friends. She was an excellent listener, offering support and appreciation to those fortunate enough to know her. Her famous fresh-baked bread and beloved "Dirt Pudding" will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of enjoying them.

Christmas was a cherished holiday for Florence, as she delighted in spending quality time with her family and friends. In her leisure, she enjoyed playing cards, watching old movies, and caring for her cherished kitty, Bella.

Florence is survived by her loving children, Connie (Ron) Klinkhammer of Sauk Centre, Sheri (Bylan) Lemke of Long Prairie, and Troy (Holly) Grewe of Shakopee. She took immense pride in her five grandchildren: Jay (Anna) Klinkhammer, Melisa (Paul) Schwarz, Molly (Bren) Smith, Alex Lemke, and Colt Grewe, along with her four great-grandchildren: Tenley Pfaff, Madelyn Smith, Paxton Smith, and Hallie Smith.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jerome Grewe, parents, and a brother, Wayne Lietz.

A visitation will be held on February 9, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will begin at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church: 610 2nd Ave SE, Long Prairie, MN 56347.

Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Long Prairie, MN later in the Spring.
