Gregory James Niehaus

Gregory James Niehaus was born in Alexandria, MN on December 8, 1983, to Joseph and Beth Niehaus of Osakis. Greg attended VesslAmor School for autistic children in Jamestown, ND until he was nine. He then continued his education at Jefferson High School in Alexandria, MN until graduation.

Upon completing school, Greg went to work at the local Developmental Achievement Center. Greg was loved for his big brown eyes and sense of adventure. He enjoyed swimming, movies, car rides, four-wheeler rides, snacks and spending time with his Group Home brothers.

Greg passed away unexpectedly on Monday October 2, 2023, at his home. He is survived by his parents Joe and Beth Niehaus, siblings, Lori and Norbert Johnson, Gary and Dawn Niehaus, Sharon and Fritz Didier, Dale and Rachel Niehaus, Theresa Dirkes, Joey and Jill Niehaus, many nieces and nephews and his brothers at the Group Home.

He is proceeded in death by his grandparents, brothers, Dean, Wayne, David and infant sister.

A special thank you to the caring staff at the REM Group Home, DAC, Shelly Grothen, and all past caregivers of Greg.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 11:30 AM.

A visitation will take place on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Osakis, Minnesota.
