Iris Hill

Iris Hill, age 89 of Osakis, formerly of Albuquerque, New Mexico died on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, MN.
Iris was born on September 9, 1917, in Waskeda, Manitoba, to Thomas and Louisa (Mutter) Jones. She was united in marriage to George Hill of Bottineau, ND, on December 6, 1944 in the cathedral in Brandon, Manitoba. Iris and George resided in Fargo, ND, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Moorhead, MN, Lewiston, ID, and Albuquerque, NM. Iris moved to Osakis, MN, in 2006.
Iris was a wife and mother of three children who enjoyed family and friends, travel (especially camping trips), sewing, gardening and being active in church groups.
Iris is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George Hill, a sister and a son-in-law.
She is survived by her children, Karen (Mark) Reicks of Osakis, Gary (Delores) Hill of Lindon, TN, Carol (Jim) Ashby of Edgewood, NM; grandchildren, Kay Waldvogel of Osakis, Jenny Kurfess of Rosamond, CA, Karla Fjeld of Lansing, MI, Paul and Lydia Ashby of Edgewood, NM; great grandchildren, Craig, Ashley and Colton Waldvogel, Kaleb Helberg, Declan Fjeld, Izaak and Lauren Butler.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 18, 2007 at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Alexandria with Rev. Noel Rich and Rev. Tom Sinning officiating. Musicians are organist, Mertice Brueske and soloist Dana Hetland. The luncheon following the service is provided by the church women in the fellowship hall. Pallbearers are Craig, Ashley and Colton Waldvogel, Declan Fjeld and Kaleb Helberg.
There will be a memorial service in Albuquerque with Rev. Sam Stern officiating.
Interment will be in the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
