James "Jim" Hoosline, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Jim left behind a legacy filled with cherished memories and an enduring spirit that will forever be remembered.

Born in Alexandria on May 19, 1956, Jim was the son of Donald and Genevieve Hoosline. He grew up in Osakis, where he attended Osakis High School. A vibrant student known for his friendly demeanor and charismatic personality, Jim actively participated in the football and basketball teams during his high school years.

Upon graduating from Osakis High School in 1974, Jim embarked on a new chapter by joining the United States Air Force alongside his best friend Al Neumann. Their dedication led them to four years of active duty and an inseparable bond that lasted a lifetime. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Jim began working for CertainTeed Manufacturing in Shakopee, devoting most of his life to this company.

Outside of work, Jim had a zest for life that was infectious. In his younger days, he found joy in hunting and playing softball with friends. These activities allowed him to connect with others and create lasting memories. Jim's ability to find humor in any situation made him the life of the party wherever he went.

However, it was through his loving relationships with family and friends that Jim truly found fulfillment. He was blessed to have reconnected with Sandi who was his childhood friend and later became his wife. He loved Sandi dearly; they were best friends and she stood by his side through thick and thin. Together, they created a home filled with love and unwavering support.  Jim was a devoted father to his daughter, Carissa, who was his pride and joy and he loved her so very much.

Jim's warm and caring nature extended beyond his immediate family. He leaves behind a multitude of loved ones who will forever cherish memories of his kindness. Jim is survived by his wife, Sandi; daughter, Major Carissa Hoosline, US Air Force; mother, Genevieve Thieschafer; step-children: Justin (Emily) Elsmore, Tony (Laura) Elsmore, and Jamison (Lindsay Bocko) Elsmore; six adored grandchildren; siblings: Darrel (Sharon) Hoosline, Diane Nieken, Muriel (Larry) Mcjunkin, Russell (Joni) Hoosline, Donna (Mike) Koep, and Dave Hoosline; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jim's dad, Don, and brother Dick preceded him in death but will forever remain in the hearts of those they left behind.

Jim Hoosline will be remembered as a remarkable man who brought joy to the lives of everyone he encountered. His perseverance, positive attitude and playful teasing endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.  Jim's legacy will not only live on through the memories he created but also through the love he shared with his family and friends.

As we say our final goodbyes to this incredible soul taken from us too soon, let us find solace in knowing that Jim's spirit will forever shine brightly in our hearts. May he rest in eternal peace knowing how profoundly he touched our lives.
