James “Jim” Torstenson, aged 91, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, surrounded by the love and care of his family. A man with a gentle spirit and a laugh that could light up any room, Jim shared warmth, humor, and kindness with all who knew him.

Born on January 5, 1935, Jim had a lifelong passion for the outdoors and an insatiable curiosity that fueled his adventures and learning throughout his life. Known for his quick wit and infectious laugh, he brought joy and brightness to every gathering.

Jim treasured moments with family and friends, whether casting a fishing line at dawn, spending a day hunting, snowmobiling through the fresh Minnesota snow, or relaxing in his favorite chair with a Louie L’Amour book.

He embraced life with gratitude, joy, and a deep appreciation for its simple pleasures.

Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Jean Torstenson, his loving daughter, Pamela Dolan, and his sisters, Marlys Hawkins and Nona Betts.

He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Jim’s legacy is one of laughter, love, and quiet strength. His stories, smile, and unmistakable laugh will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
