Joanne K. Thompson

Joanne “Jo” Thompson passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, at the Galeon Care Center in Osakis, MN at the age of 84 years old.  Jo was born in Columbia Heights Minnesota to Brunis and Marcella Miskowic in 1941.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Thompson; brothers David, Richard, Jerry; sisters Arlene, Marilyn, Diane.   She is survived by her sister Kathy, children; daughter Patricia, son Gary; also including Don's children, Deborah, Diane, Jeff, Jamie, John, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren.

Don and Jo both liked to fish and moved to Osakis where they made many friends and enjoyed the lake life, while spending the winters in southern Texas.  Jo worked many years for different companies, and the rest of her time was spent on bowling leagues, softball leagues, fishing and camping, card club, enjoying country music, girls’ trips to Cragun’s Resort, playing the occasional pull tabs and spending time with family. Don and Jo were lifetime and active members of the VFW.

Our feisty Jo will be missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel in the Galeon Senior Living of Osakis on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 10:30 AM with Father Matthew Kuhn officiating.

A Celebration of Joanne's life will take place on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 4-6 PM with a 4:30 PM Time of Sharing, at the Seargent John Rice VFW Post 6316 in Blaine, MN. (1374 109th Ave NE, Blaine, Minnesota).
