Life History for Jordan Henry
Jordan Henry of Sauk Centre passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN at the age of 82 years.
On January 17, 1937 in Birchdale Township, Todd County, Leonard and Sylvia (Holmes) Henry became parents of a son they named Jordan Dwayne Henry. He would grow up with a brother and two sisters, Lorman, Lynda and Shelley. He graduated from Sauk Centre High School with the Class of 1954. He would serve his country in the Minnesota National Guards for six years. On May 16, 1959 he was married to Helen Sophia Ahrens at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. They raised three children, two sons and a daughter, Mitchell, Gerald ‘Jerry,’ and Janis. Jordan worked for 48 years for Starry Construction, most often driving Caterpillar. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
Jordan loved being in the country and raising his family on their hobby farm where he could teach them an appreciation for nature. He looked forward to going deer hunting each season. He enjoyed watching television and being with his family and watching his grandchildren grow. He was a man of few words, never one to raise his voice. He taught by kindness and a gentle wisdom. Because of his calm, steady manner he was easy to be with and was never known to complain. He was a beautiful example of fatherhood and will leave a hole in the hearts of his family and friends.
Jordan is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Lisa Henry of Sauk Centre and their family, Brianna (Brandon) Plumski (children, Grayson and Eliana) of Alexandria, MN, Alyssa (Jaime) Thieschafer, Cody Henry, Faith Henry (son, Bentley) and Owen Henry, all of Sauk Centre; his daughter and son-in-law, Janis and Mike Fearing of Long Prairie and their family, Brandi (David) Thompson (son, Kyden) of Paige, ND, Chelsea Fearing and fiancé Sam Kessler of St. Michael, MN; his brother, Lorman (Irene) Henry of Sauk Centre and sisters, Lynda (Wilfred) Potter of Zimmerman, Shelley (Ernest) Hedglin of Melrose; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Helen on May 28, 2011 and his son, Jerry on August 13, 2019.
