Marcella (Sally) Rademacher passed away peacefully with family members at her side on
September 21st, 2009 at Walker Methodist Health Center in Minneapolis.
A memorial service under the
direction of the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home was held on September 26th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt.Carmel Catholic Church in Long Prairie, Minnesota.
Sally and her twin sister Lucille were born May 28th, 1920 to Julia and Peter Luberts in Little
Falls, Minnesota. She spent most of her early years in Long Prairie, Minnesota, and, after graduating from Long Prairie High School in 1931, worked at tbe Todd County Courthouse. Sally married Joseph Rademacher on June 6th, 1944, and over the next nine years had three children; William, JoAnn and Patrick.
Sally, Joe and family settled again in Long Prairie in the late 1950's after living in Jersey City,NJ; Missoula, MT; Madison, WI; Fargo, NU; Melrose and Minneapolis, MN. Sally and Joe later divorced in 1964. She resumed working in the Register of Deeds Office at the Todd County Courthouse until her retirement in 1985. Throughout her life Sally was always actively involved in the lives of family and friends. She was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, mother and friend. Sally relished visits with family and spoiled them with their favorite meals and delicious desserts. Those who received her trademark Christmas cookies still talk about them. Sally loved to tease, and kept many laughing with her sense humor. She could complete crossword puzzles faster than most, enjoyed playing cards, and was incredibly lucky at Bingo. She was skilled at needlework and crafts and even taught herself how to
knit. Sally was an avid sports fan and cheered for the Minnesota Twins, the Minnesota Vikings and her favorite professional tennis players. She especially enjoyed living in Long Prairie and socializing with her circle of life-long fIiends.
Sally is survived by her son William and daughter-in-law Susan of Breezy Point, MN; her
daughter JoAnn Livermore and son-in-law Loren of McCall, ID; her son Patrick and daughter-in-law, JoAnn of Ramsey, MN, and her sister, Leola Rademacher and brother-in-law Don of St. PauL MN. Her grandchildren are Kristen Paulsen and Jim Rademacher. Her step-grandchildren are Sean Livermore, Durine Rychly, Deda Golden and Danita Forbord. She is also survived by many great, and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Sally was preceded in death by her mother and father, sisters Lucille Luberts and Viola Smith,
and brother Edwin Luberts. Her living family is greatly consoled knowing that Sally, a devout
Catholic, is with her heavenly Father and reunited with those familv members she loved and missed so very much. The family requests those wishing to make donations in Sally's name give to the charities of their choice.
