Marjorie LaVonne Swor age 91, of Osakis went to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 28, 2022.
Marjorie was born on November 26, 1930, in Belle River Township, Douglas County, Minnesota to Gustav and Alice (Martin) Kallstrom. She was baptized and confirmed at Fahlun Lutheran Church in rural Nelson. Marjorie attended country school in Belle River Township and Osakis Public School. She later received a diploma for clerical and key punch from the Alexandria Technical College.
Marjorie was united in marriage to Ralph Swor on May 7, 1949. The couple was blessed with three children, James, Ralph Jr. and Suzzette. The family lived in Osakis all their life. While living in town, Marjorie was homemaker and a helper to Ralph in their many projects. In their 50’s the couple moved from their lake home to a farm north of Osakis. Here Marge became a farmer, milking the cows, raising chickens and tending a large garden. Ralph was still working construction but helped her out when he was available. The couple built several homes around the Osakis area. Marjorie was active member Osakis Lutheran Church with the Ladies Aid, Monday Quilters, and making cloth diapers and assembling personal care kits. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels, served as treasurer of the Senior Club, and counseled for Alcoholics Anonymous. Marjorie enjoyed gardening, canning, working on their homes and scrapbooking with her daughter. She loved her Lord and always wanted to do His will. Marjorie loved for butterflies and had many around her house. Her great-grandchildren loved looking around her house and counting them (which was well over 100). Most of all Marge loved spending time her family and friends.
On Thursday, July 28, 2022, Marjorie exchanged her perishable body for her new imperishable body and left her room at the Galeon in Osakis to enter her heavenly home. She is survived by her daughter, Suzzette (Doug) Sibell of Osakis; daughter-in-law, Wanda (Bruce) Loween of Alexandria; five grandchildren, Venesha, Sarah, Jeremiah, Wyatt and Calysta; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Carl Kallstrom of Burnsville and Roland (Dorothy) Kallstrom of Wabasha; and several nieces and nephews. Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; sons, James and Ralph Jr; parents, Gustav and Alice; sister, Viola Hevern; and brother-in-law, Jack Hevern; and sister-in-law, Jean Kallstrom; half siblings, Elaine and Woodrow Kallstrom.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Osakis Lutheran Church in Osakis. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home.
