On April 16, 1927 a little girl was born to William R., II and Martha (Blatchley) French in Thief River Falls, MN. As a young girl, Mary Ellin moved with her family to the St. Cloud area. She was a graduate from the Sauk Rapids High School in 1945. Mary Ellin then moved to Minneapolis to do clerical work for the Hennepin County Social Services office. On October 2, 1948 she married her sweetheart, Paul Jorgensen at the Methodist Church in St. Cloud, MN. As Paul took teaching jobs, they lived in Montfort, WI and then Barnum, WI. Mary Ellin was very involved in her community. She belonged to the Osakis Lutheran Church and sang in the church choir for over thirty-five years. She was also a member of the local P.E.O. organization. Some of her hobbies included growing flowers and tending to the many shrubs and trees she planted around her yard, golfing, bowling, playing cards, reading and taking long walks. Mary Ellin also liked to sew and was an avid reader. She and her husband Paul were both very faithful Osakis High School sports fans and fine arts supporters.
