Life History for Pauline Jost
Pauline Jost, age 89, formerly of Osakis went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2009 from the Lakeview Good Samaritan Home in Glenwood, where she had been a resident.
Pauline Anna Theresa Thralow was born on June 20, 1920 in Morris, MN to Frank and Amanda (Zahl) Thralow. She was united in marriage to William Jost on December 21, 1936 in Sisseton, SD. The lived and worked near Morris for many years, where Bill worked as a sales representative and Pauline helped with his business and raised their four children. After their retirement in 1970, they moved to Osakis. After Bill passed away in 1972, Pauline moved to St. Francis, MN and then to Anoka for several years. After a time in Hastings, MN, she moved into the Lakeview Good Samaritan Home in Glenwood. Pauline was a member of Peace Lutheran in Morris and belonged to the Ladies Aid.
Pauline was well known for her gardening skills and always had beautiful flowers each season. She was an avid sports fan, who enjoyed watching football, baseball and golf. She kept her hands busy crocheting, making warm, beautiful blankets for all of her family and friends. She had a sharp mind and answered right along with the contestants on many of her favorite game shows. Fishing and doing crossword puzzles were other activities she enjoyed. Pauline was a kind and loving mother and grandma who treasured her family. She will be dearly missed by them and all who knew her.
Pauline is survived by her children, Betty Thomson of Gastonia, N. Carolina, Ronald (Jan) Jost of Ham Lake, MN, Lois (Kenneth) Kellen of Hastings; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Letty Jost of Levenworth, KS.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, William in 1972, a son, Robert (Bob) in 1991; her brothers, Arthur and Walter Thralow and two infant brothers; her sisters, Agnes Clark, Meta Thompson, Elma Sunquist and an infant sister.
Funeral services for Pauline were held on December 22, 2009 at 1 pm at the Roy-Hetland Funeral Chapel in Osakis with Rev. Ginger Beck officiating. A special reading was given by marce Jost. Interment was at the West Evergreen Cemetery in Osakis. Honorary casketbearers were her granddaughters, Pamela Sparks, Debbie Lally, Michele Thomson Tidd, Sydney Jost and Jodie Anderson. Active casketbearers were her grandsons, Jim, Derik and Byron Jost, Shawn, Jeremy and Stacy Kellen.
Arrangements were handled by the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home, Osakis
