Rose ‘Rosie’ Weldon, age 80 of Osakis, formerly from LeCenter, MN passed away at her home in Osakis on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018.
Rosie was born on April 4, 1938 in Paynesville Township, MN to Mike and Loretta (McIntee) Mccann. She grew up in Manannah Township and graduated from Paynesville High School. Rosie lived in LeCenter and worked for the Winco Corp. She married LeRoy Weldon on July 6, 1957 in Manannah and had three children. Rosie worked for many years waitressing at the American Legion Club. She also sold bingo cards in Lexington. As she recovered from health issues, Rosie moved to the Osakis area in 2006 to be near her daughter and family.
Rose enjoyed her family and grandchildren. She loved her flower garden and especially enjoyed sitting out in her gazebo. She also liked playing bingo and going shopping. She took pride in spoiling her family with homemade goodies and for several years belonged to the Red Hat club to socialize with her friends.
Rose is survived by her children, Yvonne ‘Cookie’ (Steve) Trisco of Osakis and Pat Weldon of Carver, MN; 3 grandchildren, Shawn Solum, Orry and Jordan Trisco; 3 great grandchildren, Sylas Trisco, Seth and Emilie Solum; a sister, Betty Ann (Leo) Ashfield of Sauk Centre, MN.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, LeRoy Weldon; a son, Richard ‘Ricky’ Weldon and her siblings, Frank, Gene and Dick Mccann and Lorraine (Mccann) Benfield.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Rosie on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 10:30 am at the Church of Our Lady in Manannah with a celebration of her life to continue from 1 – 3 pm at the Valley Inn in Eden Valley, MN.
