Terry Michael Nelson, born on March 15, 1947, in Alexandria, Minnesota, passed away on November 11, 2025, at the age of 78. A devoted family man and cherished friend, Terry's memory will live on through the countless lives he touched.
Terry began his life of service with a brief tenure in the United States Navy, after which he dedicated himself to a career in a machine shop. His work ethic and determination were evident throughout his professional journey, earning him respect from colleagues and clients alike.
He is remembered not only for his career but for the love and warmth he brought to his family and friends. Terry had a special affection for hugs and kisses from his loved ones, which he cherished deeply. He often found joy in the simple pleasures of life, nurturing a passion for gardening and maintaining a large collection of bird feeders that brightened his surroundings. In quieter moments, he could be found enjoying his favorite television show, Swamp People, or indulging in his lifelong love for fried chicken.
Terry's legacy continues through his loving family, which includes his children, Troy Nelson, Todd Nelson, and Tanya (Jesse) Malvin. He also leaves behind his brothers, Gary Nelson and Andrew Nelson, along with his sister, Maxine Svee. Terry's spirit will be dearly missed by his 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, who were always a source of joy and pride.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Evangilien Nelson, as well as his sister, Ginger Wade. Their memories remain an integral part of Terry's legacy.
Family and friends are invited to honor Terry's life during a visitation on November 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home, located at 101 W Nokomis St, Osakis, MN 56360. Terry's kindness, laughter, and unwavering love will forever be remembered by all who knew him.
