Life History for Christina Fraisl
Christina 'Tina' Fraisl, age 100 years, died on Holy Saturday morning, April 11, 2009 at the Golden Living Care Center in Anoka, MN where she was a resident.
Christina Hubertina Klausmann was born on September 25, 1908 in Belle River Township, Douglas Co., to Felix and Barbara (Moonen) Klausmann. She grew up and attended country school in Belle River Township and as a young woman began a lifetime career of helping others. She would go and stay with families needing assistance and offer home health care and housekeeping services for them. During her working years, Tina also was cook and rectory housekeeper for the priests who served St. Nicholas Catholic church. She took care of over 13 area priests during her many years and was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas parish. In 1979, Tina moved into Carlos, MN. For the last several years she lived in the Manor Apartments in Osakis and a farm in rural Belle River Township before moving to a care center in Anoka in 2002.
Some of Tina's hobbies included gardening and then canning all of the bountiful harvest each fall. She also enjoyed television and cooking. She was a devoted Catholic who was often found praying her rosary.
Tina is survived by her nephew, Eugene (Joyce) Klausmann of Blaine and a niece, Sharon Doyle of North Fork, NE; 8 great nephews and nieces; 24 great, great nephews and nieces and a great, great, great niece and nephew. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Wendelin and Gerhard Klausmann.
A Mass of Resurrection was held for Tina on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 11:00 am at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River with Fr. Ralph Zimmerman officiating. Also concelebrating were Frs. Francis and Eugene Pouliot and assisting was Deacon Donald Becker. Musicians were Rose Becker, accompanied by ________. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pall bearers were Ricky Hauer, Lloyd Hendricks, Dennis Hillmer, Norman Schlosser, Gary Collins and Jerry Zastrow.
Arrangements were with the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis, MN.
