William "Bill" Loveland

March 23, 1946 — August 16, 2024

Villard

William “BILL” Loveland 78, Of Villard (Owner of DB Little beagles) passed over on August 16, 2024. A celebration of his life will be held At 2 pm, Sunday, September 22 at the VFW, Alexandria. Viewing begins an hour before.

Bill was born in Heron Lake, 3/23/1946 to Bud and Shirley Loveland. He grew up in the Glenwood/Alexandria area. He was a fishing guide by the age of 8. I’ve said “Bill was born with a fishing pole in one hand and a poker hand in the other”.

After school he enlisted in the US Army serving in German. After discharge Donna and Bill married and had one daughter, Laurie. During that marriage he worked sales and developed a passion for Appaloosas. It was via this shared lifestyle that Bill And Dorothy Everett met. They spent the next 40+ years. “Having a heck of lot of fun doing horses” plus breeding and raising beagles.

Bill loved poker and he dealt and played in many tournaments and casinos in the Dakotas and Minnesota. During fishing season, you could find him on Lake Reno catching walleyes at 2 am. Bill’s ability to laugh at himself and life in general, his dry wit, kind heart and gentle soul will be missed. Bill is survived by his sister Cheryl (Doug) Weinkauf, brother Richard Loveland, and Dorothy’s son, Jesse Everett. He was proceeded in death by his daughter Laurie, his life partner Dorthy Everett, parents, and two siblings.
