Clarice "Claris" Sorenson

Clarice “Claris” Arlene Sorenson was born on December 12, 1930, in Gordon Township, Todd County, Minnesota to Arthur and Clara (Ingvalson) Sorenson, one of eleven children.  She attended District 63 school in rural Osakis for eight years.  Claris began her waitressing career at a restaurant in Alexandria.  She also worked in Paynesville, St. Cloud, and Fargo.

Upon retirement, she lived in Fargo the rest of her life. Her favorite pastime was shopping and watching TV.  She had a great sense of humor and was known for her delicious chocolate brownies.

Claris passed away from covid 19 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo on November 30, 2021, at the age of 90.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Allan, Kenneth, Maurice and Eugene; and her sister, Adelene Pynes.  Claris is survived by brothers, Duane (Janice) Sorenson of Sauk Centre, Ronald (Virginia) Sorenson, Carmen (Cynthia) Sorenson and Roger (Phyllis) Sorenson all of Osakis;  sister, Lorraine Buzick of St. Cloud; daughter, Sharon Sorenson; and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, December 6, 2021, at Salem Lutheran Church in Osakis.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church.
