Dorothy Hart

January 23, 1930 — September 6, 2019

Osakis

Dorothy Hart, age 89, of Osakis, formerly of Joliet, IL passed into her new life on Friday, September 6, 2019 at the Galeon in Osakis, MN.

Dorothy Arlene Hodges was born in Davenport, Iowa to Benjamin and Ann Marie (Kregaski) Hodges on January 23, 1930.  She was their only daughter.  In addition, she had two brothers, Ralph and Donald.  She grew up in Illinois and was married to Charles Hart.  They lived in Joliet and raised their family of six children.  She was a member of the Moose Lodge.  After their retirement in 1980, the Harts moved to a home on Lake Osakis in central Minnesota.  Dorothy liked to get out on the lake fishing as often as she could. She also enjoyed cooking for her family.  Large pots and doubled recipes were standard fare.  Dorothy was an excellent baker and was always well supplied with goodies anytime someone stopped for a visit.  In her younger years she kept active going to area dances and getting out bowling.  Dorothy was a kind and generous mother and grandma who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children, Anita (Arthur) Lake of Joliet, IL and Dennis Hart of Osakis, MN; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, her children, Mike Hart, Jeannine Fawley, Charles Hart and an infant daughter, Anna Bonnie Hart; her brothers, Ralph Hodges and Donald Drish.
